M att and Deseree Gonzales are the Senior Leaders of The Gathering. Both Matt and Deesree were born and raised in Stockton, Ca. where they have founded Kingdom Culture Ministries. KCM is a network that has crossed denominational lines in building relationships and being a resource to churches and church leaders as well as a base for a group of ministries with the purpose of seeing the love and power of God transform lives.
In 1992, Matt began his pursuit in a career in baseball, yet a severe injury along with heavy depression began to attack him. While trying to find an answer for his intense pain, Matthew turned to a lifestyle of partying. He quickly found himself in trouble with the law and after several near-death experiences, he knew he needed something more. In 1994, Matthew had a supernatural encounter where the Lord revealed the plans and purposes He had for him. With a changed heart and a purpose for life, Matthew and his brother Jeremy began an outreach to local kids taking them off the streets. In 2001, he founded ‘The Carpe Diem Movement,’ a college outreach on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College.
Matt has a passion for people and brings with him over ten years of ministry experience on college campuses. He is a sought out speaker and travels nationally and internationally conducting outreaches and crusades, conferences, evangelistic outreaches, church meetings, and training sessions. Matt has a desire to impart and unlock the core values of the Kingdom in people’s lives. His father’s heart and passion is fused with a strong anointing in the area of the prophetic and healing with a practical teaching style. He currently serves as the Dean of Kingdom Culture School of Transformation and President of Kingdom Culture Ministries.
Deseree carries with her an inheritance from a long line of ministers that has been a foundation and huge part of her testimony. She graduated from Sacramento State University in 2005 with a degree in Business Administration. Deseree has a strong passion to see people walk in the fullness and freedom that Christ bought at Calvary. She walks in an anointing to see people set free and walks them through the process of deliverance. With a strong prophetic anointing, Deseree seeks to be a coach and mentor in people’s lives and pushes them towards their dreams. She currently serves as the co-director and is one of the primary instructors at KCST and imparts wisdom with a practical, hands-on teaching style. She also serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of Kingdom Culture Ministries. She desires for people to know their greatness and walk in their identity in Christ.
Both Matt & Deseree and the Gathering Church family have taken on this theme of seeing His Kingdom invade the lives of people. As a result, many healings ranging from cancer to broken bones, to learning disorders and emotional healing, happen with regularity. Their passion to partner with others to see a regional transformation has been a driving force behind this move. Matthew and Deseree continue to walk out their call; to Pastor, mentor, and father people with the goal to see nations transformed and to prepare this generation to be His glorious, overcoming bride.
